Opposites attract

I heard this song by Paula Abdul in the car a couple of days ago and it immediately triggered my scrapbooking cortex. Well, I think most scrapbookers are like that. Everything is an inspiration source. The idea of opposites got me thinking and I noticed that I have used the concept of opposites on a few layouts in the past. Let me show you a layout I created with the Destination Unknown kit from Scraptastic. I like using the edges of the background paper and try to do it in such a way that is helps the eye travel over the layout. Adding photos to either side helps focus on the title and also highlights the lovely design of the Lilybee patterned paper. You can play along with my Opposites Attract challenge on the Scraptastic Kit club blog. There is a 20$ voucher up for grabs!!!

This is another example where I layered clusters of embellishments on opposite borders:
Voici d'autres exemples:

On the next one I used the principal again on the top and bottom edges of the background paper:

I'll be back tomorrow with WHAT IS IN MY TWOPEAS BOX and another layout. Saying a chilly bye bye from Belgium (it is 4°C outside!?!) and see you tomorrow.

Gardener's digest

... coming from Jen K.'s blog.
Today is our monthly blog hop at TwoPeasInABucket. An occasion to show you what has inspired us throughout the month and what next month will hold in store. One FABULOUS new feature to the TwoPeas store is our BRAND SPANKING NEW DIGITAL section. There are amazing cut files to download as well as printables! You still have a couple of days to ckeck out the May digital files. Beware as some of the files are only available for one month. In June another set of files will be added to the store. Click on the image to see the digital section of the store.

I always have a hard time narrowing it down but here are my current favourites (just click on them for details!):

1. October Afternoon's Travel girl collection. I can't resist OA!

2.I am really loving Elle's products and new releases. This collection is just perfect for scrapping my boys!

3.TwoPeas digital cut files (and all the printables)! Seriously LOVE them!

4. Wood veneer. I swore to stop buying them as my collection is quite sufficient but I am weak.

5.  One of my new favourites! Lakeside by Pebbles!

My favourite part of preparing this post is going through the gallery looking for favourites. Here are some I spotted:
Wilna's work fascinates me. I love EVERYTHING she makes. Click on the layout to see her video.

This one caught my eye immediately. I love the design and the details. Amazing work by Leslie Ashe. See more of her work here.

A giveaway is always fun. This month the prize is a spot in Jen Gallacher's Tool School Workshop. It is an amazing class. If you have already bought you'll be refunded. Just leave a comment with you peaname in the comment section and I'll pick a winner next week.

A little peak of what I have created for June:

Here is a list of the garden girls participating in this month's hop. Your next stop is Lexi.

See you soon and keep Moore in your prayers. They need all the love and support they can get.

One of my favourites

I think it must be one of my favourite lines ever. The RANDOM collection from Crate Paper. I still have some papers left. I will be giving a scrapbooking class this Thursday at my children's school. It is a project where parents can come and teach about something they love. I'll have 9 kids between 6 and 12). I created this layout as example. They all been using different papers as I want them to choose the colours and patterns themselves. I will try to teach them how to colour coordinate. It will also help me use all the stash that I can't let go of as I love it so much. I have kept it simple. There is just a bit of layering envolved. I have 2 sessions with them so it should go well. (Fingers crossed).
Une petite page avec une de mes collections préférées: RANDOM de Crate Paper. Cette page a été conçu pour un atelier que je vais donner à un groupe d'enfants de l'école primaire de mes enfants.

See you tomorrow with another layout ;)

Last year ....

I wrote my very first article for a scrapbooking magazine. It was a special edition of the Esprit Scrapbooking magazine and I created a "folder" minibook. Today I can finally show it to you. It holds photos of me when I was younger with some of the places I lived in. I think it is my favourite mini up to date. I used the StoryTeller collection from Crate Paper. I LOVED that line so much!
Voici un mini que j'ai créé pour mon le premier article que j'ai écrit pour Esprit scrapbooking. Il est sorti dans l'édition spécial de l'an dernier.

Inside the folder are little tags that came be pulled out with more photos and stories.

These photos are memories and make me sad each and every time. I still included them so that I and my children will never forget!
