On Trend: Chalkboard

23 June 2014

There are so many fun trends in scrapbooking but one of the my favourites is chalkboard. There is patterned paper, labels, stickers, .... you name it. I created a bright layout using chalkboard paint and the Brightside collection:
I love how the black makes everything pop. I had some chalkboard paint lying around and added some to my background paper.

Once it was dry I added my papers and embellishments. What I love the most about this paint is writing on it with a white pen. Adding some handwriting or a bit of doodling just gives the layout that little extra.
Have fun with the chalkboard trend.

Summer layouts

21 June 2014

This month I created two layouts for the American Crafts blog. The theme was summer. As we still have a couple of days to go until the summer holidays I printed some pictures from last year. I love looking back and reliving these wonderful moments.

For this first layout I wanted something light and airy. The picture was taken on our first day in the Provence in France. Our holiday home was smack bang in the middle of a lavender field. Just walking to the village centre was heaven on earth because you could smell the scent as you walked through the plants in full bloom. I also used one of Wilna Furstenberg's cut files (which you can find HERE: cut files:

The next layout is all about a BIG TITLE. I used some watercolours to customise it.

In Between

19 June 2014

In between studying with the kids, correcting exam paper, housekeeping, and all the rest, I didn't scrap at all but I do have some work to show from two weeks ago that I haven't shared yet. For this layout I decided to stick with neutral colours. My favourite products must be the Amy Tangerine Plus One kraft sticker tags. JUST LOVE LOVE LOVE them.

You are my Sunshine ....

14 June 2014

Hi there every one. Lilith here, with a layout with some artsy inspiration. I was drawn towards one of the cards on the Bits & Pieces Paper from the FELICITY collection. I wanted to recreate the same look on my background. This is the card that inspired me:
I had an idea for the design for some time so the layout came together really quickly. I made a video showing the whole process.
