Altenew May 2018 Stamp/Die Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

21 May 2018

Welcome to the May 2018 Release Blog hop. If you have come from the Simon Says Stamp Blog you are right on track. The Altenew blog hops are always such fun. Lots of inspiration and lots of prizes up for grabs.

I created a layout with the Garden Silhouette Bundle.

I paired it with the Layered Dahlia Stencil which I used to create a colourful background. I used an envelope pocket to add a backdrop for my photo.

The Silhouette Garden set was perfect for creating little embellishments. I stamped the images with a very light grey ink and then watercoloured them.
For the title I used the word love from the Script Words die set which I cut with my Mini Blossom die cut machine from Altenew.

Winnie and Walter Documentarian

18 May 2018

Hello there everyone. I am thrilled to be the May Documentarian at Winnie&Walter.
I got the chance to worked with them a couple of years ago and I loved it. I had so much fun creating with the stamps and die they sent me.

Today I will be sharing my first project which is a layout. I used The Framed With Evelin T design stamp set and paired it with the Kindness set. I had filmed the whole process but something went wrong when I uploaded my files and I lost them all.  So I'll explain how I created the layout.

I started by stamping the frames and then I added the tree, cactus and leaf shapes. For colour I used alcohol markers and blended different shades together. I choose three tones: pink, grey and green and used black for the stamped images.

To give the frames some depth and have the impression they pop off the page I added some shadow using a light grey alcohol marker.

I also added the shadow to the photo to tie all the elements together.

For my title I picked sentiments and words from the True stamp set. I added a touch of pink with stickers from sticker supply and chose some that would fit in with the layout.

My layouts are a reflection of me, my feelings and things I would like to say to my loved ones. They aren't always about events or places. Scrapbooking helps me express myself which is sometimes a little difficult as my husband and children only speak French but I my mother tongues are Dutch and English. I miss expressing myself in these languages and crafting has helped me get my words and feelings out on paper.

A big thank you to Winnie and Walter. I'll have another project lined up next week.

Altenew Build-A-Flower: Morning Glory

1 May 2018

Today Altenew is releasing the May Build-A-Flower set called Morning Glory.

Our Build-A-Flower: Morning Glory set includes 1 6x8 stamp set (21 stamp images) and 1 coordinating die set (3 dies).

This set contains two beautiful multi-layered morning glories along with leaves and vines. Morning glories produce typical funnel-shaped blossoms in white, red, blue, purple, and yellow. You may stamp these flowers in any of our Altenew ink colors to get great results!

This special product is only sold as a set, not individually.

I created a simple layout doing a lot of flower stamping. I chose to use blue tones with the flowers.

I stamped some of the images on some Solar Crest White cardstock from Altenew and also stamped two images seperately. I popped them onto foam dots to add dimension and detail.
I picked blue hues that match the patterned paper I picked from the Reflection Scrapbook collection.
The Deep Blue Seas Ink set was a perfect fit.

For the greenery I used some Forest Glades and Frayed Leaf Crip ink. A couple of enamel dots and butterflies add the finishing touch.

The sentiments in this set fit perfectly so I didn't need to use anything else.
This set is problably my favourite to date but I think I say that for every BAF set that comes.

Thank you for stopping by.
